The Progression Through the Jetline Modular Course

Achieving the requirements for an Airline Transport Pilot Licence can be done independently in sections, i.e. Private Pilot Licence, Single Engine Piston Land, Multi Engine Piston Land etc. – this is called Modular training, or if done in one lump by mixing the modules together is called Integrated training. Both routes have advantages and disadvantages when compared, but BCFT has decided that the most effective is the Modular route, and when assembled into our unique Jetline package it is, in our opinion, the most professional cost effective course available.

Many prospective student pilots are faced with the dilemma of which route to take to achieve their frozen ATPL, either Modular or Integrated. Both routes have their advantages, the Modular one offers flexibility and ease of payment, the Integrated one offers uninterrupted training, and time effectiveness. However within the Modular system there are many paths and routes leading to the Licence, and the choices are abundant. With the Integrated route large deposits, and long term full time training commitments are required.

What BCFT has done in the Jet Line Course is to take the best of both Integrated and Modular routes, simplified the situation, and laid out a unique training format that gives clearly defined goals, whilst at the same time ensuring smooth transition from one module to another – in effect integrating the modules.

This course is designed specifically for those students who wish to conduct all their training from ab-initio to frozen ATPL in smooth succession, and under the banner of one organisation (a plus to most airlines). With the minimum cost/time and upheaval this course is ideal for many students who are either self funded or time restricted, but who want to benefit from its flexibility, and low costs with no major up front payments.

Firstly, let’s look at what the modules in the Jet Line Course are:

Once the training is complete the student will have met the requirements for an ATPL (the Licence you will need to fly commercially in a multi-crew environment). This Licence will remain frozen until a total of 1500 hours have been flown, of which a minimum of 500 hours must be multi-crew in a turbo-prop or jet aircraft. It then becomes unfrozen and a full ATPL issued.

If the Jet Line course is conducted on a full time basis, it not only reduces the total training time, but offers distinct financial savings (deposits required).

Prior to commencing the Jet Line Course the student must obtain a Class 1 Medical, and be over 18 years of age prior to Licence application.
