The Company conducts a comprehensive portfolio of approved courses; the Private Pilot’s Licence, all elements of Commercial Pilot training including ATPL Theoretical Knowledge courses, Multi Engine, Instrument and Flight Instructor Ratings as well as Multi Crew Co-operation Courses (MCC) and Jet Orientation Courses (JOC).

As a major Industry provider BCFT is aware that not only must the training and results be above average for the prospective airline pilot, but to have conducted all of the training from start to finish within the same organisation is very much the preferred route.

BCFT is situated at Bournemouth International Airport, which has all the required facilities for Commercial and Instrument training. The airport is accessible by road, rail or air, and there are many domestic and international scheduled flights.

Civil Aviation Authority Examiners are co-located on company premises and therefore there is no need to “travel” to another airfield to take your relevant test.

BCFT has an extensive apron situated outside the front of the training centre; its only a few paces to board your aircraft.

The full range of professional courses is offered by BCFT. One of the main features of these courses is that they can be tailored to each individual’s needs and budget. Our Professional Course Co-ordinator will take each student through the options available.

To ensure standardisation of equipment, availability for training and reliability, BCFT choose to own most of its aircraft, and this in turn ensures that our prices are extremely competitive, indeed we are one of the lowest priced operators in the area (with no middle man, we can pass the savings on to the student).

The centre operates a complete range of flight simulators, ranging from non specific type trainers to full type specific FNPT2s. Full visual generic jet simulators are used for MCC and JOC.

Unlike many training facilities who operate generic simulators, BCFT recognises the need for full integration between simulator and aircraft, therefore type specific simulators are a requirement and a major player in smoothing the transition to aircraft, ensuring the course is completed in the minimum time possible.

All of BCFT’s fully Commercial Approved Instructors either have been, or are still in the Airline Industry, with a background of Public Transport Operations. They have many years of experience, and most are CAA Approved Examiners conducting tests for the wide range of ratings offered by BCFT. The high quality of Instructor is essential for the standard of training and the resulting high pass rate.

The focus is purely on quality and standards. BCFT is extremely proud of its high pass rate. This is done by conducting courses in the minimum time possible, structuring 2 students to 1 Instructor with their own allocated aircraft. The centre is open 7 days a week from 07.30 to 20.30.

For the dedicated student who is, perhaps, living in rented accommodation, minimum course times are paramount and can result in significant savings in overall costs.

All BCFT’s students are regularly assessed and training restructured accordingly if required. This ensures any training problems are picked up and corrected immediately.

BCFT has a policy of only accepting a set amount of students on any course, this ensures that nobody becomes a ‘number’. In fact, all students are known to staff on first name terms and our pastoral care is of great importance. There is always someone on hand to assist the students with any problems they may encounter.

BCFT has a comprehensive list of good, available, accommodation, and will make all the relevant arrangements on behalf of the student.

As stated before, all tests are carried out within company premises either by CAA or authorised flight examiners, therefore there is no need to relocate to an unfamiliar place. This very much reduces the stress involved.

BCFT are one of the most cost-effective schools in the industry. As all BCFT’s facilities are owned by the Company, overheads are reduced and the savings can be passed on to the customer.

Furthermore all prices quoted are fully inclusive, i.e. VAT, landing fees, approach fees etc. Therefore there are no hidden extras. “What is quoted is all you pay”.

For training at airfields other than Bournemouth, an approach/landing fee may be required. This will be made clear, and agreed, with the student beforehand.

It is BCFT’s policy to offer students the option to pay as you go – no monies up front, no hefty deposits, and no worries about their “invested” savings – therefore no financial risk whatsoever and the student can gain interest on any funds in their bank account. Should the student wish to deposit monies, BCFT offers a secure Client Account facility. *Excludes Jet Line Course where a separate deposit is required.

Most of BCFT’s students acquire Pilot positions within a very short time of acquiring their professional Licence. We strive to keep our website up to date showing placements gained with preferred Airlines.
