Pre-entry Requirements

1. Hold a current Aeroplane Instructor Rating
2. Hold an Instrument Rating, if you wish to give instruction for the grant of an IR
3. Hold an IMC rating or a UK Professional Pilots Licence which includes IMC rating privileges
4. For instruction towards the IR, have 200 hours of instrument flight time (50 hours of which can be in a simulator)
5. For instruction towards the IMC, have 10 hours by sole reference to instruments

Training Syllabus

The syllabus to be followed is based on the recommendations as laid down by JAR FCL.

• 5 hours minimum flight training
• 25 hours minimum of ground school charged. 10 hours home study
• Pass a Skills Test with an FIE (approximately 1.5 hours)
• Course duration - full time approximately 7 working days - weather dependent
